Wood Plank Look Porcelain Tiles

If you like the look of hardwood but want a product that is easy to maintain and that can be used in wet areas without damage, consider taking a look at wood plank look porcelain tiles. Unlike laminates, wood plank look tiles aren’t affected by moisture and stand up better to wear and tear, making this product a great alternative to natural wood.

Why Use Wood Plank Look Porcelain Tiles?

Many people like the look of hardwood flooring, but it isn’t right for every area of the home. Solid hardwood can’t be installed below grade or in wet areas because it can swell with moisture. While engineered hardwood can be installed below grade, these planks don’t last forever because the top layer can only be sanded and refinished a finite number of times.

Laminate floors also cannot be installed below grade or in wet areas, and they tend to scratch and dent over time, often making them higher maintenance than real wood.

Porcelain tiles that look like hardwood do not stain, dent, or swell. You can install them anywhere from your bathroom to your basement and they will still look amazing 10 years from now. These tiles require no special cleaners and no refinishing.  Traditional enemies of floors such as dog nails, heavy furniture, or rowdy children don’t pose a threat.

The Look of Wood Plank Porcelain

To create this amazing look, designs are modeled from wood planks and the design is printed onto the porcelain tile.  These designs are available in many species of wood, a large variety of colors and also in a variety of plank lengths and widths to create a more authentic feel.  These planks are also available as weathered wood with the look of reclaimed lumber.

When these planks are installed with a 1/16-inch grout joint of a non-contrasting color, they are very difficult to discern from hardwood.

If you want the look of hardwood without the maintenance, consider wood plank look porcelain for your home.
