Keep Your Tile Floors from Feeling Damp

Do your tile floors feel damp?

There’s nothing worse than having tile floors that always feel damp. Not only is it uncomfortable, but it can be dangerous, as well, since it makes it easier to slip. The following are a few tips on how to keep tile floors dry:

  • Dry mop – Use a dry mop to wipe away any moisture that gathers on your tiles. Make sure to tell anyone at home that there is water present on your tiles so that they won’t try to walk across the wet floor.
  • Dehumidifier – Put a dehumidifier in the room with the moist tiles. A dehumidifier will absorb any of the moisture that is in the air. Make sure to read the directions before you put a dehumidifier into use so that you know how long you have to leave it running.
  • Plastic sheeting – Go under your home and look at the area underneath your moist floors. Look for any puddles located directly beneath the infect area and cover the damp ground with plastic sheeting in order to create a vapor barrier.
